Data & credits

CHARTED is built entirely from free and open data. Everything you see in the world, on the map and in search comes from the sources below; nothing is fetched from a paid or keyed API.

How it's served

The app is a static site. Data is static files (PMTiles archives and JSON) read with HTTP range requests from object storage. There is no server, API, database or account; nothing about you is collected or stored anywhere but your own browser (settings, saved places and a tile cache).
